Provider Highlight: O2O-VCTP
WAServes – Greater Puget Sound is one of eight America Serves Networks across the country, with twelve scheduled to be online by 2017. Onward to Opportunity in Partnership with the Veterans Career Transition Program (O2O-VCTP) is one of 76 key veteran service providers, spanning the scope of supportive services for veterans and their families in eight counties in the Pacific Northwest service region.
O2O-VCTP is a free career training program that provides professional certification and job placement support to transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses. O2O-VCTP combines industry-validated curricula, strong partnerships with leading veteran service organizations and private sector companies, and comprehensive career coaching services to prepare and match service members, veterans, and military spouses with their next career.
O2O-VCTP clients receive:
- Access to training and professional certifications that help prepare for their next career
- Flexible learning pathways aligned to over 30 industry certifications, professional certificates or in-demand fields
- Individualized career preparation services and job placement support provided by program partner, Hire Heroes USA
O2O-VCTP has been an early adopter in the WAServes provider network as one of the top leaders in providing employment and education services to WAServes clients.
UNDERSTANDING WASERVES CLIENT NEEDS
Employment is currently the largest service type requested by WAServes clients, reflecting 30% of all service cases. The figure below indicates the distribution of closed cases across 16 service types. The remaining top service case types are 29% Housing & Shelter; 11% Benefits; and 6% Legal.
O2O-VCTP is one of the top three network providers who has served the most WAServes clients in employment services, along with Work of Honor and WorkSource Pierce County. Below is the percentage of O2O-VCTP WAServes clients across these categories:
- O2O-VCTP achieved an 83% positive outcome rate in addressing client employment needs.
- O2O-VCTP worked with 7% of all Employment WAServes services cases.
O2O-VCTP is one of 11 providers referring clients into the WAServes network.
UNDERSTANDING O2O-VCTP CLIENTS
O2O-VCTP CLIENTS BY AGE AND SERVICE ERA
O2O-VCTP clients are 83% male, ranging in age from 30 to 64 years old and have served in the Army and Navy. 50% are from Post 9/11 (on or After 9/11/2001), 17% are from the Persian Gulf War (on or After 8/2/1990), and 17% are from the Post-Vietnam (5/8/1975-8/1/1990) service eras.
