WAServes Education Partner CityU Offers July Workshops

City University of Seattle (CityU) is helping Veterans and military family members navigate education opportunities in the WAServes – Greater Puget Sound network. For four decades CityU has helped those who have served in the military, offering special tuition, awarding scholarships, and maintaining a highly competitive prior learning assessment policy that gives credit for prior learning experience.

Seminars, Workshops & Webinars by Sanford Institute of Philanthropy

CityU’s Sanford Institute of Philanthropy was established to offer a range of high-quality educational opportunities to further strengthen nonprofit organizations throughout Washington State. The Institute also offers seminars, workshops, and webinars built around four key themes: cause selling, marketing, fundraising strategies and relationship building.

WAServes is pleased to announce two upcoming workshops by the Sanford Institute.

The Ask: Everything you need to know! – Everett

Event Date: Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 11:30 am

Event Location: City University of Seattle- Everett Campus, 1000 SE Everett Mall Way, Suite 101, Everett, Washington

At this workshop, you will learn about:

  • Key functions of the donor ask
  • When to close and how to recognize donor signals
  • How to make a compelling donor presentation
  • Skills for questioning and listening
  • Best practices for following up after the ask

You will also hear real-world experiences and scenarios so that you can put concepts into action right away. The format will be conversational with the opportunity for questions and answers.

Speaker: Nicky McGarity has more than seven years of experience making “asks.” She has been the Donor Engagement Officer for The Boys and Girls Clubs of King County and has worked with nonprofits to provide a concrete approach to donor-centered fundraising practices.
